Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ground chuck
- 1 can (14-16 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (14-16 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 cans (14-16 oz each) tomato sauce
- 3 tablespoons olive oil (plus 1 tablespoon for the pasta)
- 5 fresh garlic cloves, minced
- 1 large onion (or 2 medium), diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
- Prepare the Base:
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add 3 tablespoons of olive oil.
- Sauté the diced onions and green pepper for 5-7 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Cook the Meat:
- Add the ground chuck to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks.
- Once browned, drain any excess grease from the pan.
- Season and Simmer:
- Sprinkle in the garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, basil, Italian seasoning, oregano, sea salt, and black pepper. Stir well to evenly coat the meat with the spices.
- Add the diced tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, and tomato sauce. Mix everything thoroughly.
- Lower the heat to a gentle simmer, cover, and let the sauce cook for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- Cook the Pasta:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook for 7-8 minutes, or until al dente.
- Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the boiling water to prevent the pasta from sticking together.
- Drain the pasta and set aside.
- Combine and Serve:
- Toss the spaghetti with the meat sauce, or serve the sauce over individual portions of spaghetti.
- Garnish with extra parsley or grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
Enjoy your hearty spaghetti with meat sauce—perfect for family dinners or cozy nights in!
